Review: January 25, 2025<\/strong>
Head southeast out of the parking lot down the slightly muddy gravel trail.
It starts out through a forest of maples and cedars. I know that\u2019s right ha ha ha there is an under story of Oregon grapes, salmon, berries, ferns, and Oregon grape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This first part of the trail gently slopes down as it heads in the general direction of the Willamette River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After just a little over 1\/10 of a mile turn left and follow the Wildwood Trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walk gently downhill and in about another 0.1 mile or so you come to a junction that leads back to the parking lot. Continue on along a little canyon as the Wildwood Trail continues through a fairly open forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 0.7 mile, you come through another junction which you could return to the parking lot if you needed to make a short hike. Continue along the Wildwood Trail through the open forest along the well-maintained dirt packed trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After about a mile, you come to the Newton Road. This will be your return route. Cross Newton Road and continue along the Wildwood Trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continue along the Wildwood trail, which is mostly level for this portion until you come to a small creek crossing. This wooden bridge over the creek is a good spot to turn around or you can continue on the Wildwood trail for as long as you\u2019d like. Coming back when you come to the large intersection with Newton Road turn right and walk up the hill along the ridgeline back to the parking lot.
