- Branches from dead trees dangle in the trail making this section seem like a haunted forest.
- The trail passes through a second growth forest mainly of Hemlock trees with a few Vine Maples.
- The narrow trail passes beneath Horseshoe Ridge.
- This great example of a widow-maker on the Horseshoe Ridge Trail won't be standing for many more seasons. I guess it will fall over this winter.
- Knobby Rocks covered with green moss give a hint as to how much rain this area gets.
- The Horseshoe Ridge Trail drops down steeply off the ridge back towards Siouxon Creek.
- This banana slug didn't mind the rainy weather at all.
