- We went up to Mt. Rainier on New Year's Day and the parking lot was almost entirely empty, as this photo shows. The parking lot filled up later in the day.
- What a rare winter day where the sky is azure blue and the snow titanium white. With no new snow for the past several days, a perfect day for a snowshoe trip.
- Venturing up from the Visitor's Center the trees quickly become very sparse. The trails are all nearly empty as most people sleep in.
- How beautiful Mt. Rainier is on a sunny day.

- Megan takes a break so I can catch up. How wonderful to hike on such a beautiful day with a friend.
