- Mt. Adams looms in the distance from a panoramic viewpoint along the Mt. Defiance Trail.
- Mt. Hood can be seen in the distance from the Mazamza Trailhead.
- Atmospheric haze gives a nice distance perspective of Mt. Hood as viewed from Mt. Defiance.
- Hole-in-the-Wall Falls is the second waterfall the Mt. Defiance Trail passes. You can see where the waterfall comes out of the tunnel.

- From the switchbacks on the rockfield, you can see how well maintained the Mazama Trail is.
