- The spray from the waterfall dampens areas below the falls and allows these Monkeyflowers to thrive. The constant spray also supports mosquitoes near the falls.
- The skeleton of a long-dead tree graces the Garfield Peak Trail. Iconic Wizard Island is in the distance.
- The creek soon flows into the woods and away from the trail.
- Take time to look at the patterns of nature along the Garfield Peak Trail. An old know that has been sandblasted over time looks like an eye watching all who hike the trail.
- Plaikni Falls Trailhead is well signed but the parking lot is pretty small and can easily fill up on sunny days.
- Plaikni Falls shoots down the cliff and then tumbles down a stony stream bed.
- Plaikni Falls cascades about 20 feet over a rock cliff.
