- A closeup view the sunlight reaching Mt. Jefferson at sunrise from the southern edge of Jefferson Park in July.
- A view of the intrepid backpackers on the Whitewater Trail, almost to the end.
- An interesting beetle crawling on beargrass along the trail.
- Another day of beautiful weather and plenty of bugs for company during rest stops.
- At the end of our hike we waited for our shuttle to pick us up. We found several butterflies that weren't afraid to crawl on our fingers. Maybe they liked our salt.
- Bays Lake in Jefferson Park, OR.
- Bays Lake in Jefferson Park, OR.
- Bruce and Lance posing high on the slopes of Mt. Jefferson after our climb up from Jefferson Park.
- Campsite at Breitenbush Lake. This was the worst place on the whole trail for mosquitoes. The mosquitoes died in our food as we heated it up and we ate, then stayed, in the tents.

- Climbing up Mt. Jefferson for a day hike was a wonderful trip. Another perfect day for hiking.
- Climbing up through the snow was an easy way to lose the trail but we were able to take a sighting from a distant landmark and continue on our route.
- Even in July Russell Lake was still frozen at the east end of Jefferson Park.
- Heavy snows lingered late and covered the trail. It was a great opportunity for the Scouts to use their route-finding skills. This is looking north back the way we came.
