I practised routefinding by fixing on a distant point and going in a straight line along Mazama Ridge.

The Castle, on the left, looks kind of like a cat's face. Pinnacle Peak in the middle looks so rugged. Plummer Peak is kind of shaped like a chocolate kiss.

The snow just before the line of trees are many small cornices created from strong west winds blowing across Paradise Valley.
A steep 500 foot drop to Paradise Valley is to the right of these cornices and snow drifts.
Brrr... I think the snow will keep getting deeper through March. There must be 15 feet of snow on the ground here. Notice the trees in the foreground are almost buried. You can tell by looking at the trees that they aren't very small trees. The wind must
