- All along the trails in Tryon Creek State park, Licorice Ferns grow happily on trees in areas with plenty of rainfall.
- The Dog Mountain Trail near the summit. This is a view to the west, looking over Wind Mountain.
- The South Coldwater Trail begins in a new forest and has a moderate climb up to a ridge. Foxglove stretch for the sky in this small clearing.
- This section of the Pacific Crest Trail gently curves and climbs towards Dry Creek Falls.
- A turquoise lake provides a nice contrast to Mt. Rainier close to the Emmons Glacier View Trail.
- Wizard Island rises above the azure blue water of Crater Lake.
- The beginning of the trail is well marked.
- Knobby Rocks covered with green moss give a hint as to how much rain this area gets.
- Starting down into Swale Canyon the rocks and reflective pools of water make a nice setting.
- Here is a nice view of the cliffs along the Columbia River from the Cherry Orchard Trail.
- The Tatoosh Range from the head of Paradise Valley. From left to right, The Castle, Pinnacle Peak, Plummer Peak, Denman Peak, Lane Peak.
- Snow, ice, and wind was too much for this tree which snapped in two. The top augered into the snow.
- A side trail drops down to the Crooked River. A deep pool of water eddies beside the trail.
- Hikers pause to take a break along the Plaikni Falls Trail in Crater Lake National Park.
