- You can see some of the trees that ring the summit of Marys Peak. Most of them are Noble Fir.
- You can see Mt. Hood to the south along the middle portion of the trail.
- You can see Loowit Falls from several places as you approach it.
- You can see how trees struggle to grow in the volcanic rock of the ancient lave flow.
- You can see a lot of mountain peaks from the trail. From Mount St. Helens to the north to the three sisters and the surrounding mountains to the east.
- You can get pretty close to Sweet Creek Falls, but the rocks get slicker from the spray as you get closer to the falls.
- You can enjoy many panoramas from a long the Marys Peak Trail. This is the highest peak in the Oregon coast range.
- You can barely see Bonneville Dam from the clearing near Camp Smokey.
