- The first major creek the Elk Meadows Trail crosses is Clark Creek. This is an easy crossing with this nice log crossing.

- The West Fork of the Salmon River run crystal clear under an old bridge along an old Forest Service road.

- Taking a break along the trail. There are plenty of wildflowers along the trail.
- Trailhead at Bonneville Power Administration for the Ellen Davis Trail, which is part of the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail
- Hiking the Wonderland seems like a great alternative. It will be nice and quiet since the road isn't open. Left to right, Steve, Meagan, Tim, and Mark
- Frog Pelt lichen (Latin name: Peltigera neopolydactyla) near Triple Falls in the Columbia River Gorge.
- Rocky cliffs along the trail mean good views if you can get to the top of the cliffs.
- The South Coldwater Trail begins in a new forest and has a moderate climb up to a ridge. Foxglove stretch for the sky in this small clearing.
- View of the Lewis River Valley near the trailhead for Big Creek Falls.
- The view as you approach Comet Falls.
