- Oneonta Creek has a small waterfall just upstream from where Trail #400 crosses Oneonta Creek Trail.
- Bryophyte mosses grow lush near Munson Creek Falls.
- A tree tunnel at Oswald West State Park. This is near the beginning of the lower Neahkahnie Mountain Trail.
- Sedum along the Nesmith Point Trail
- Mt. Hood from Newton Creek. This view shows the canyon that begins just upstream from where the summer trail crosses Newton Creek.
- Heading down through Berkeley Park we pass my favorite spring where I always fill up on the wonderful water. No need to filter here. Most people miss seeing this is a spring.

- There is a lot of columnar basalt along this hike. The columns are hundreds of feet tall.
- I think this is a dwarf bramble blooming along the Owyhigh Trail.
- Jude Lake was a great place to camp and the lake was shallow and relatively warm.
