- Looking downriver on the Otter Bench Trail shows the near-desert scenery of the area. The wide-open spaces make for a tranquil hike.
- False Hellebore buds are thick along the trail as it enters the Owyhigh Meadows.

- From Palmateer Point this unspoiled view of the Barlow Creek Valley looking east must have looked just like this to the pioneers as they finished the Oregon Trail.
- Palouse Falls plunges over a basalt precipice and makes quite a show in the spring. This is from the overlook at the falls.

- Now you can see the snow falling. It snowed pretty hard all day. Just the thing to cover up all the seeds and needles that fall off the trees.
