- There are a lot of different kinds of fungsu along this trail. Here are some nice white ones.
- There are a couple sections of old railings still along the trail. This overlooks the Columbia River.
- There are a couple of signs near the summit of Wind Mountain explaining that this site was a Spirit Quest site for Native Americans.
- There are a couple of places where a trail sign has been stenciled onto the rock for a guide. You'll need the help to navigate this trail.
- There are a couple of interpretive signs along the trail.
- The Yellowjacket Trail isn't maintained much and there are some deadfall to get around.
- The Yellow star-shaped flowers of Glacier Lillies (Latin name: Eryhtronium grandiflorum) in bloom along the Eagle Creek Trail. Eagle Creek is in the background.
- The yellow leaves of Vine Maples are lit by the afternoon sun along the Mt. Defiance Trail.
- The Wyeth trail passes through a rock-strewn clearing and you can see the radio tower on top of Mt. Defiance to the east.
- The Wonderland trail climbs to this overview of Winthrop Glacier. Rocks and dirt are constantly falling off the top of the glacier and rolling downt he ice face into the streambed.

- The Wonderland Trail between the two Carbon River Crossing is closed in July 2009 due to a washout. Trail crews are working to reroute the trail.
