- Fungi carpet the ground at the base of a tree along the Stevens Creek Trail in Mt. Rainier National Park.
- Full rivers make themselves a new path. Here the Elwha has expanded due to the snow melt.
- Frozen Lake is the junction for several trails. This lake is the water supply for Sunrise. The snow usually lasts all summer around this lake.
- Frozen alder cones on the Pine Marten Trail.
- Frosty rocks on the shady side of the ridge. This is on a promontory west of the Pacific Crest Trail between Barlow Pass and Twin Lakes.
- Frost on the bark and moss makes interesting patterns. The frost covered moss was swinging in the wind.
- From the top of Salmon Butte, the Douglas Fir trees frame a view of Mt. Hood.
- From the top of Beacon Rock you can see Hamilton Mountain and the basalt cliffs along the south side of the mountain. Looking at Hamilton Mountain you can see how steep slopes end in sheer cliffs in the Gorge.
- From the top of Beacon Rock there are great views to the east with Boneville Dam in the distance. The trees along the river will soon burst into green.
- From the switchbacks on the rockfield, you can see how well maintained the Mazama Trail is.
- From the east side of Smith Rock State Park, there is a great view of the park and the Three Sisters beyond.
- From the East side of Mystic Lake looking up at Mineral mtn and Rainier
- From Palmateer Point this unspoiled view of the Barlow Creek Valley looking east must have looked just like this to the pioneers as they finished the Oregon Trail.
- From near Timberline Lodge the view to the south shows Mt. Jefferson on the horizon.
