- Standing at the overview of Crescent Lake looking at the Crescent Mountains and Mt. Rainier peeking out near Windy Gap.
- The Carbon Glacier ends at the lowest elevation of any glacier in the United States, except for Alaska. The Winthrop Glacier has to end just about at the same elevation. The Carbon River gushes out from underneath the glacier.
- A marmot on a side trail munches on Lupine blooms above Moraine Park.
- A small meltwater pond reflects a bit of the Cresent Mountains near Windy Gap on the Northern Loop Trail.
- Looking down at Cresent Lake from the small saddle above Windy Gap. This is one of the few vantage points for Cresent Lake.
- A marmot on a side trail munches on Lupine blooms above Moraine Park.
- Steve using a rope to get down a trail washout to get to Winthrop Creek. The Park Service put this rope in to help out backpackers on the Wonderland Trail.
- Mystic Lake and Old Desolate along the Wonderland Trail. Enjoy the level trail along Mystic Lake while it lasts.
- Van Horn Falls along the Northern Loop Trail. You have to wade through Devil's Club to get this view unless the stream is low.
- Mystic Lake and Old Desolate along the Wonderland Trail. A small stream in the foreground flows into Mystic Lake. The stream at the west end of Mystic Lake is a great place to filter water.
- A field of flowers along the Wonderland Trail. The trail and hillsides were strewn with flowers in mid-July.
- Mt. Rainier just after sunrise reflected in a meltwater pond. The marine air forms clouds as it flows over Mt. Rainer, then the clouds disappear again. An example of a mountain making its own weather.
- These plants with pink flowers look like a giant version of Dutchman's Breeches (Latin name: Corydalis scouleri). They grow 5 to 6 feet high along the trail between Carbon River Camp and Ipsut Campground on the west side of Carbon River.
- Mt. Rainier and the Wonderland Trail. This was taken on the way up to Skyscraper Pass.
- A last look at the Crescent Mountains from the Northern Loop Trail.
