Our campsite at Lake James Camp along the Northern Loop Trail at Mt. Rainier National Park. We had the camp to ourselves this night. There was still a bit of snow by the bear pole in late July.

The ranger cabin for Lake James. This is a ways above the lake. The cabin got a new roof and luckily wasn't damaged from winter storms. Nearby trees were not so lucky and dozens were blown down in a tangled mess.

Climbing up from Lake James to Yellowstone Cliffs the trail passes by this little mountain valley on the Northern Loop Trail. This is near Windy Gap.

Natural Bridge is a 200 foot wide stone arch. The top is about five feet wide. Some people climb out onto it, a foolhardy act in the backcountry, in my opinion.
Mt. Rainier is the white mass in back of Sluiskin Mountain. A sloping field of avalanche lillies decorate the nearby hillside.
