- I practised routefinding by fixing on a distant point and going in a straight line along Mazama Ridge.
- The Tatoosh Range from the head of Paradise Valley. From left to right, The Castle, Pinnacle Peak, Plummer Peak, Denman Peak, Lane Peak.
- I've got everything out of the igloo, ready for destruction.
- Kevin at the junction for Mazama Ridge. Breaking trail from here was tiring through the heavy, wet snow.
- Looking back towards Paradise Valley on the 4th Crossing Trail climbing up to Mazama Ridge.
- Kevin's water hose froze up during the night. I thawed it out for him while he was packing up.
- Part of the Tatoosh Range as seen from near Paradise. From left to right, The Castle, Pinnacle Peak, Plummer Peak, Denman Peak.
- The Castle, on the left, looks kind of like a cat's face. Pinnacle Peak in the middle looks so rugged. Plummer Peak is kind of shaped like a chocolate kiss.
- Frank and Kip snowshoeing down Mazama Ridge for a lunch at Reflection Lakes.
- Detail of one of the small cornices. A steep 500 foot drop to Paradise Valley is to the left of these cornices.
- Closeup of Icicles decorating all the trees on 4th Crossing Trail along one of the forks of the Paradise River.
- Mt. Rainier rises majestically above everything early in the morning.
- Icicles decorate all the trees on 4th Crossing Trail along one of the forks of the Paradise River.
- The snow just before the line of trees are many small cornices created from strong west winds blowing across Paradise Valley.
- A fox came by camp in the morning but didn't stay long. There was enough crust on the snow that the fox just walked right on top.
