- The first overlook of Big Creek Falls.
- The first of many friendly Marmots that came out to greet us.
- The first monolith that you come to juts up from the ridge. This is the rock that you skirt on the left side as you approach from the meadows.
- The first major creek the Elk Meadows Trail crosses is Clark Creek. This is an easy crossing with this nice log crossing.
- The fields of wheat, lentils, and soybeans are still green in early July. This view is looking southeast from Kamiak Butte over the Palouse.
- The fall colors of Vine Maple leaves are are reflected in the Ohanapecosh River on the path to the Grove of the Patriarchs at Mt. Rainier National Park.

- The Dog Mountain Trail near the summit. This is a view to the west, looking over Wind Mountain. This photo was taken past the peak of the Balsam Root flowers blooming.
