- Returning back to the trailhead we passed these interesting cornices which formed at the top of a very steep slope.
- Kevin at the junction for Mazama Ridge. Breaking trail from here was tiring through the heavy, wet snow.
- The beginning of the trail is well marked.
- This is the only view of Mt. Rainier for the next couple hours of hiking. Be sure to walk to the bridge over Box Canyon to enjoy the view on a clear day.
