- There are some nice views of Mt. Rainier from the Glacier Basin View Trail.
- There are some great fall colors along the trail. Here the red of a dogwood tree brightens the trail.
- There are several signs explaining features of the Tom McCall Nature Preserve.
- There are several places along the trail where you can see all the way down to the trail. This little hole is about 4 feet deep.
- There are several patches of Skunk Cabbage in the Park. This one is along Cedar Hiking Trail.
- There are several nice overlooks of the Columbia River. In most places the cliffs below block most of the highway noise.
- There are plenty of seagulls along the river
- There are only a few small pools of water along the streambed. Most of the water drains into the gravel.
- There are only a few places in the park with a good view of Pyramid Peak. This is situated on the west flank of Mt. Rainier. This was taken from the road near Inspiration Point.
- There are many seeps, several streams, and a few small waterfalls along the Gales Creek Trail.
- There are many patches of wildflowers on the upper section of the peak.
- There are lovely mountain views all along the Marys Peak trail when the weather is clear.
- There are logs added to some of the ponds to give the wildlife a place beside the lakes.
- There are elevation signs every 1,000 feet to show how high you have climbed up towards the summit of 3,226 feet on the King's Mountain Trail in the Tillamook State Forest, Oregon.
- There are clearings along the trail where there are views to the south and the west of the mountains and valleys of the Coast Range.
