- Nature provides infinite patterns. I liked the way the crook of this long-dead tree had the moss growing on it. I wonder how many years it took the moss to grow in this harsh climate.
- Take time to look at the patterns of nature along the Garfield Peak Trail. An old know that has been sandblasted over time looks like an eye watching all who hike the trail.
- Back on the paved trail heading towards the lodge, you can stop and admire the beautiful blue of Crater Lake.
- Heading back down the trail gives you more spectacular views of Crater Lake, Wizard Island, and the surrounding area.
