- Dozens of trees near the Lake James Ranger cabin were blown down in a tangled mess. The trail to the cabin was totally covered in tree trunks and branches.
- Snow on the Northern Loop trail near Windy Gap. The trail drops down and soon enters the forest on either side of Windy Gap.
- The ranger cabin for Lake James. This is a ways above the lake. The cabin got a new roof and luckily wasn't damaged from winter storms. Nearby trees were not so lucky and dozens were blown down in a tangled mess.
- The purple and black flowers of the Tall Mountain Shooting Star (Latin name: Dodecatheon jeffreyie) blooming along Lake James on the Northern Loop Trail at Mt. Rainier National Park.
- Flood damage along the West Fork of the White River on the Northern Loop Trail.
- Looking to the northeast past Yellowstone Cliffs just west of Windy Gap on the Northern Loop Trail.
- There was a lot of deadfall on the Northern Loop Trail. There are several places where storms broke off trees.
- The big pile of dirt on the left is the Winthrop Glacier. All the dirt is rocks that fell off Mt. Rainier an the glacier carries the debris until the ice melts and leaves the rocks to wash down the river.
- Flood damage along the West Fork of the White River on the Northern Loop Trail where the river has carved a new main channel. Zach is stepping across the old bridge.
- Our campsite at Lake James Camp along the Northern Loop Trail at Mt. Rainier National Park. We had the camp to ourselves this night. There was still a bit of snow by the bear pole in late July.
- This pond with lillypads is just off the trail climbing up from Van Horn Falls to Lake James on the Northern Loop Trail.

- Zach crossing Winthrop Creek. We found a nice spot in the shade to take a break after crossing the creek.
- The Wonderland Trail climbs above Winthrop Glacier to Dick Creek Camp.
- Looking up at Cresent Mountain from above Windy Gap. Cresent Lake is below this ridge on the right.
