- Indian Paintbrush blooms near the snow along the trail.
- Heavy snows lingered late and covered the trail. It was a great opportunity for the Scouts to use their route-finding skills. This is looking north back the way we came.
- Yeah! We've finished our hike on time and without any lasting injuries! We had wonderful weather and plenty of mosquitoes to urge us on.
- Mt. Jefferson at sunset from the north side of Scout Lake.
- We played on the slopes of Park Butte for over an hour before we crossed through the pass and dropped down into Jefferson Park.
- At the end of our hike we waited for our shuttle to pick us up. We found several butterflies that weren't afraid to crawl on our fingers. Maybe they liked our salt.
- Mt. Jefferson stands in bold relief against the blue sky as viewed from near Park Butte.
- Walking on the PCT through open forest just north of Jefferson Park, OR.
- Mt. Jefferson as we drop into Jefferson Park.
- Looking to the east, we can see the drier land of Central Oregon in the far distance.
- Lance is taking a break. Mt. Hood is the snow-capped mountain in the far distance. Olallie Butte is the nearer peak.
- Climbing up through the snow was an easy way to lose the trail but we were able to take a sighting from a distant landmark and continue on our route.
- Another day of beautiful weather and plenty of bugs for company during rest stops.
- Whitewater River as it flows away from Mt. Jefferson.
- Vernon takes a break from climbing up a ridge on Mt. Jefferson.
