- A plaque in Oswald State Park near the beach dedicated to Matt Kramer who wrote newpaper articles that led to the passage of the Oregon Beach Bill in 1967.
- A Red-winged blackbird looks for dangererous tourists at the Tom McCall Nature Preserve. These birds love to hang around the ponds.
- A root-arbor has developed when this tree grew a root along another tree that had fallen against it. Now it is like a doorway on the trail.
- A rustic trail sign showing the side trail to North Lake on the Wyeth Trail.
- A short side trail from the Salmon Butte Trail leads to a mountain meadow full of wildflowers in the spring and early summer.
- A slough of the Columbia River provides a serene foreground for the mountains in Oregon. A rocky Mt. Hood can be seen poking out in the background.
- A small beaver pond is fed by springs in the meadows. The water is warm enough to stay open even though snow convers the rest of Longmire Meadows.
- A small lake on the way to West Lake is a good place to soak your feet.
- A small meltwater pond reflects a bit of the Cresent Mountains near Windy Gap on the Northern Loop Trail.
- A small stream drains away the meltwater out of Moraine Park along the Wonderland Trail.
- A small waterfall on Chinook Creek near Deer Creek Camp cascades into a clear green pool.
- A strong steel beam bridge trimmed with wood provides an easy crossing for the Wonderland Trail over Stevens Creek.
- A sturdy wood plank bridge spans one of the small creeks along the Drift Creek Falls Trail.
- A trail sign near Frozen Lake shows directions and mileages. Most all the trails in the area are well marked.
- A tree tunnel at Oswald West State Park. This is near the beginning of the lower Neahkahnie Mountain Trail.
