- A plaque near the trailhead shows that Lacamas Lake Park was dedicated in 1964.
- A rugged rock formation above Newton Creek viewed from Lamberson Butte. The rocks look like they could fall into Newton Canyon at any time.
- A seasonal pond near the top of the Mazama Trail provides a beautiful reflection of Mt.Hood.
- A sign at the Macleay trailhead talks about fish and wildlife in addition to information about the trail.
- A slick layer of ice coats the Gorge Trail #400, west of Wahkeena Creek.
- A small spring in the forest near the junction of the Elk Meadows Perimeter trail and the Knarl Ridge access trail provides a lush growing area for marsh plants.
- A small stream flows through a culvert under the trail at the bottom of the hill, about .5 mile from the parking lot on the Trillium Lake Trail.
- A small waterfall cascades down just above the the Gorge Trail.
- A trail signt at the top of Beacon Rock talks about the Missoula Floods and how they shaped the Gorge.
- A very nice footbridge crosses Warren Creek just below Hole-in-the-Wall Falls.
